Narrative time
The main types used are
• Screen time- the length of time it takes on screen
• Subjective time- experience the same sort of time as the character
• Compressed time
• Long take- one shot that continues through
• Simultaneous time- 2 different scenes 2 different characters but at the same time
• Slow motion
• Freeze frame
• Flash forward
• Ambiguous time

Sound
• Diegetic – in the scene
• Non-diegetic sound- later added in (not natural)
• Contrapuntal – sound doesn’t fit/ match the scene
• Parallel- sound matches the action
• Bridges- links 2 scenes together.
